The Drybar in Georgetown

I've wanted to try out The Drybar ever since it opened just down the street from me in Georgetown, but could never come up with an occasion that I thought was "fancy" enough for the splurge. Jennie and I were given the opportunity to try out each of our respective locations though, and I have to say, I'm hooked, fancy occasion or not. My stylist Megan (who has worked there since they opened!) was wonderful, from the add-on Floater - a 10-minute head massage that I clearly enjoyed - to the actual blowout, she was informative and had some great stories of past events they've hosted at that location.

I chose The Cosmopolitan for my style, because I wanted something different from the sleek and straight hair I sport on most days. Before I left, Megan gave me some tips to make my blowout last, the best being tie it up loosely to sleep. I followed them, and with the help of a little dry shampoo I made this baby work for 2 additional days! Even through a half mile training run - now that's staying power. For about the price of a mani/pedi, an afternoon at The Drybar may replace the nail salon as my monthly treat to myself.

What do you think - can a blowout be the new mani/pedi?

Check back next week to see Jennie's post on her local Drybar, and thank you again for the opportunity to test out this new neighborhood favorite!

  1. I love getting a blowout it makes my hair feel so silky and shiny.

  2. You look gorgeous -- and I would tooootally replace a mani/pedi with a monthly blowout if I lived closer to one of their locations :)
